Stefan Strumbel is a contemporary German artist known for his provocative work involving folkloric objects associated with his homeland of Germany’s Black Forest. “Rolex 2 Rosa” is a two-color photographic print depicting a torn off, tattooed, pig's foot wearing a Rolex. In combining the high-status symbol of the Rolex watch, with the gruesome pig’s limb, Strumbel invokes contemplation on status and contemporary society in a challenging, and gaudy manner.
